The Hancock County Library system has decided to suspend the use of all meeting rooms until further notice. This means we will not be able to have our upcoming Sit 'N Sew or program and business meetings until the library allows us.
Please check back for updates on the situation.
Michele Martin will be teaching us a Celtic Knot applique technique this month. Some prep before the class will be necessary. Michele will explain the materials needed and prep work at the March business meeting. This will be a hand sewing program.
This month's block begins with a 15.5" white square. On that will be 4 circles, sized 12", 9", 6", and 4", placed inside of each other, in any arrangement. They do not have to be concentric. If desired, you may embellish smallest circle with an applique, yo-yo, or button. Turn in your blocks at the April business meeting.
Bay Oaks will be hosting the GSQA meeting in July. The theme will be "Halloween in July," and the guild is going to be giving attendees homemade treat bags. We are asking each member to make 5 of these bags and turn them in by the June program night.
This year's challenge is based on the time of year you were born! The colors you may use are that of your birthstone and two other of your choosing. Your quilt should be inspired by either the season you were born in or a holiday in your birth month. These quilts can be any size, and may be just quilt tops or quilted and finished. These are due at the holiday party in December.
