The Bay Oaks Quilt Guild holds a Quilt Show every two years. The latest show was held on May 9-10, 2025. The goal of any quilt show is to promote the art of quilting and provide members with a forum to show their work. The Guild had Viewers' Choice votes for quilts for First, Second, and Third Place ribbons and for an Honorable Mention. This year the Guild also had Viewers' Choice votes for First, Second, and Third Prizes for the Calendar Quilt category.
Members participate in various positions to help make the Show a success – from Publicity, Ticket Sales, Scheduling, and Demonstrations. Other members organize the actual Show from Quilt Collection, Show Set Up, Show Takedown, and Returning Quilts to Owners.
Half the money raised from the Show is used to support programs and workshops for Guild members. The rest of the money is donated to charitable organizations.
This quilt was designed by a Guild member. The middle panel was painted on fabric by another Guild member. Groups of Guild members worked on sections, i.e., making birds, magnolias, and background. A Show Guest won the quilt.
